Kootenay Jack was born and raised down a Rocky Mountain back road. The only son of a second generation born Irish immigrant. Spoiled by four older sisters and his Mom (He will jokingly tell you he just has that effect on women.)
He and his Sisters have a very close relationship.

Jack’s Grandfather an Irish Immigrant, became a Steam Engineer and helped to build the Railway through the Rockies.
His Father worked at Cominco in trail, B.C. and later became an Electrical Contractor. His Mother came from a large family (Maiden Name Pepper) In Smith Falls, Ontario.
She Eloped with Jack’s Dad during the 1930’s, to settle in Trail B.C.

Jack left home in 1968, he became a lineman and worked in Canada and the United States, always with his guitar writing songs, playing or jamming in some local pubs. Every song is based on a true story and is a small picture of a part of his life.
This is how he meets his wife Vera, a Cape Breton girl, a coal miner’s daughter; she has written songs and has been the inspiration for many. She still sometimes rolls her eyes when he goes off into another new project or is fired up about some new show.
They have three wonderful Daughters and four Amazing Grand Children.

Jack returned to his Home Town just by chance in 2004 and reconnected with his old friends.
In 2005, he was seriously injured on the job, so during his recovery period it gave him time to write and record many new and unfinished songs.
Still after all these years, he still looks for that elusive something that constantly pushes the creative mind.

Now a seasoned performer, his high energy shows are necessary for Country and Rockabilly fans.
Jack also does a tribute to Hank Williams Jr and Sr. (Outlaws, Rock and Honky Tonk Blues.)
